Middleton-in-Teesdale is the gateway to the natural beauties of Upper Teesdale. Beyond here you will find areas of magnificent scenery in a landscape dominated by vast wooded valleys, open moorland, picturesque villages and attractive whitewashed farm houses. At the heart of the landscape you will find High Force, England’s highest single-drop waterfall.

We are run by a management committee made up of representatives of local organisations and individuals from our community. As well as running the local Tourist Information Centre we also work closely with other community organisations such as the Middleton Christmas Lights Committee, Middleton Carnival, Middleton in Bloom and Walkers are Welcome. By working with Northern Heartlands recently, we have published a series of walks with a heritage theme called A Walk Through Time
